Waterfalls

The Dominical and southern zone is home to some of the best waterfalls in all of Costa Rica.

Nauyaca Waterfalls my personal favorite, has two different tours available.  1st Horseback to the waterfall leaving at 8am with a small breakfast on the way up.  When at the waterfalls you will be amazed.  If you like to jump this is the place.  Climb almost midway up and cross directly under the waterfall than jump about 20 feet to a large pool.  If you feel more crazy climb to the top where it is about 45 feet, but looks much higher.  One of the largest swimming pools you will ever see for a waterfall.  On the way back we stop for a traditional Tico style lunch  at Don Lulu’s.  You will often see wildlife on this tour as well.  Tour ends at 2pm.  2nd We hike to and from the waterfall.  Great exercise and a better way to see the wildlife.  This is a 1 to 1 ½ hour hike each way.  You will enjoy the water twice as much after hiking.  This includes bottled water and local fruits. This tour can be done anytime and takes about a half day.  YOU MUST COME TO THIS WATERFALL!

La Catarata in Uvita.  The best slide in the area.  This waterfall is almost 20 feet and is the perfect slide.  This is where you get over your fears.  Two nice small pools and a rope swing.  Easy to get to and only a 5 minute walk.

Diamante Falls is a series of 7 falls that start at 3,300 feet that cascade down this incredible rock faced mountain.  Combined they form about a 600 foot cascade that is amazing.  Located next to a private reserve with incredible views.  This is a steep hike up with lots of wildlife and nature.  There is a cave near the top with kitchen and water for camping by reservation only.  This is truly an amazing place that the indigenous use for healing powers.  This tour is at least a half a day.

There are many more waterfalls of all types.
